Ao Oni

Ao Oni ("Blue Demon") is a Japanese survival  horror game made with RPGMaker.  The plot is about a group of friends enter a "haunted" mansion just because.  After a short while some of the kids start to disappear.  Hiroshi, the main character, eventually finds out that they are turning into Oni (Demons).

Hiroshi

The Oni

You find yourself locked in the mansion with the creatures, and you have to find your way out by solving different puzzles.  Your friends turn into Onis as well, which kinda sucks.  Iz scerry.  Rlly scerry.  The main aspect of the game besides the puzzle solving is the chase sequences.  At random times one of the Oni will chase you and if they touch you, you die.  You have to escape them by outmaneuvering them.  This game was mostly made famous by a YouTuber that you most likely have heard of.  He is the most subscribed person on YouTube.  His stage name is PewDiePie, while his real name is Felix Kjellberg.  He mostly does run-throughs of horror games (or he used to, anyway) and he had a playlist of this game.
Here is a link to that playlist.
Eventually (by the end of the game) Hiroshi gets out (not exactly a surprise) and is the sole survivor of the group of friends.  Overall this game is fun the first time around, but there isn't much replay value, so don't plan on keeping it in your library for long.

Also check out a game called Yume Nikki

Touhou

Touhou is a danmaku style game.  Danmaku is Japanese for "bullet curtain."  As you can see on the picture below, this game is a lot of dodging.  Each of those circles is a "bullet," and you can only take one hit before you die.

There are 14 Touhou games, some of which have spin-offs.  The main page of the Touhou wiki has a list of each individual game.

The story of the game is a little hazy, and since the game is in Japanese (unless you have a patch) it is hard to decipher it, but this is what I have gathered.  An event happens where this illusion village known as Gensokyo crosses with a real-life Japanese village and a bunch of shrine maidens fight vampires and crap from the mysterious realm.  I may have got that semi-right, or I may be totally off.  Feel free to do your own research and tell me how wrong I am, but I don't play the game for the story.  It is addicting to try to dodge all the projectiles and not break your keyboard when you die (which you most assuredly will).  Powerups in this game increase your bullet spread, strength, and spead.

Touhou is known for having really great songs that you are won't forget.  Touhou 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom, in my opinion, is the best of all the Touhou games, and has the best soundtrack.

You may have heard of a song called "Bad Apple."  It is a widely popular song that originates from Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story.  Other memorable songs from the series, include "UN Owen was her?" and Night of Knights.

If you decide to download this game, I highly recommend starting at Touhou 7.  Just do it.

Binding of Isaac

UPDATE:  I changed my topic to under appreciated video games

The Binding of Isaac is a game for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.  It is a top-down shooter rougelike game.  Basically the story is you're just a kid named Isaac, and you live a happy life with your mother, who watches religious television shows all day.  One day God speaks to her and tells her that you, Isaac, are filled with sin and must be killed.  You see your mother walk towards the door, knife in hand, ready to do the bidding of her Lord.  Isaac sees this and runs into a trapdoor that is in his room, leading to the basement.  This is where the game begins.  You have to explore the depths of your basement, fighting various monsters, while trying to escape your mother.  Throughout the game you find powerups that enhance your life capacity, your tear style (what you shoot), how fast you shoot tears, your strength, luck, speed, etc.  This game is also perma-death, meaning that once you die you're done.  To play again you have to start all over.  The game has an amazing soundtrack as well.  As you play you also have the ability to unlock other characters, which change your starting abilities.  Isaac, Eve, Cain, Judas, Samson, Blue Baby, and Maggy are all playable characters.  If you haven't noticed already (though I don't see how you couldn't) this game is very religiously influenced.  There is roughly 50 bosses in the game.  This link will take you to a list of the bosses.  This link takes you to the wiki about the game.

Here is an example of some boss monsters:

Monstro

Loki

The Fallen

It Lives

Satan

Me

Hi.  My name is Michael Blanton.  I am in CSTN which is a class for working on computers doing things such as diagnosing problems in both hardware and software, programming, networking, and things like that.  My home school (unfortunately) is Mt. Healthy.  My  blog is going to be about video games and cool games on our planet.  It will have pictures of unique games such *insert game "x"* and *insert game "y"* that you may never have heard of or seen before.  I like walking around my neighborhood, going to friend's houses, playing video games, watching anime, and working with computers.  I also play the trumpet and have done so for about 8 to 9 years.  I am really anti-social and disregard most of humanity.  I have long hair that is better than yours.  Even though most of this stuff has nothing to do with what I'm actually going to be posting about I feel it is better that you get to know me.  Don't ask why just go with it.
